Cranberry Fluff Recipe (1)

When I was growing up, my mom used to make all kinds of cranberry dishes and it usually ended up with whole cranberries being diced and sliced and mixed with some other fruit or sweetener like honey. I am really sorry if I offend someone, but I truly couldn’t hardly force it down. So, for years, I did not eat cranberries.

Finding ways to like cranberries because they are good for you. According to WebMD.com, cranberries are considered a Superfood. The author pointed out that out of 20 fruits that are high in antioxidants, cranberries have the highest level of phenols. Red grapes are a close second.

Therefore, finding ways to sneak these little gems into your died is good for you.

This is a wonderful dessert to have at the Holidays. The first time I enjoyed this light and fluffy dessert was when culinary students served this at their end-of-the-semester Holiday meal. They were kind enough to share this recipe with me. I did not realize how simple it really was.

However, in the past decade, I have tried dried cranberries-found out I just love them. I have them in salads and by themselves as a snack. I have also tried jellied cranberries. (We never had that when I was growing up). I found out that I like the jellied cranberries too.

Mixing Cranberries with Cream

Hint to preparing Cranberry Fluff ahead of time. I have tried to mix cranberries with whipping cream that is sweetened with a bit of sugar. While it tastes great, it gets a little watery if not eaten within a day.

I do prefer using whipping cream for this as I think it tastes better than the Cool Whip. Therefore, I would make sweet stabilized whipped cream, then add the Jellied Cranberries. It will hold up for a day or two.

However, if I use Cool Whip with cranberries, it also can be made a day ahead of time and it is still great when I need to serve it.

This cranberry fluff recipe has just two ingredients. Good taste does not get any easier than that. Delicious side dish for your next holiday meal. This deserves a place at the table right along with the ham and turkey.
