The Kooks and the Pogues will return again.

A third season of Outer Banks has been confirmed by streaming giant Netflix, and going by the second season’s end, we’ve got a lot to look forward to.

Season two provided fans with answers to a bunch of their burning questions about the teens’ search for legendary treasure, but it also posed a bunch more questions.

As it came to an end, the fate of Ward and his family remained to be seen, while JJ and Kiara’s budding romance was yet to be confirmed—it was clear Netflix was gently teasing a third instalment.

Now it’s been confirmed, we turn our attention to the details. Here, everything we know (so far) about Outer Banks season three, including what the streaming giant has said about the upcoming fourth season.

Will there be an ‘Outer Banks’ season 3?

Yes! Netflix announced in December the cult series would return for a third season, sharing a picture to Instagram with text saying “OBX 3”. The caption simply read: “See you in poguelandia”

In a second post, a bunch of selfies from the cast and crew make up a carousel—each hold up three fingers. Clearly, they’re just as excited as us!

To add, the series’ screenwriter Jonas Pate has sneakily hinted that the show won’t even stop at a third season, recently telling Entertainment Weekly: “Ever since we started, we always viewed it as something that was probably like a four-season, maybe five-season show, but definitely four seasons.”

Just to add to our anticipation for the upcoming third season, the showrunners revealed that the Pogues will be back for more, with a fourth season already confirmed. What does this tell us? More John B and Sarah drama to come. We. Can’t. Wait.

What could happen in ‘Outer Banks’ season 3?

If the ending of season two is anything to go by, it looks like we’re in for several pretty big twists and turns to unfold in season three.

Th biggest shocks from season two included the discovery that Ward is alive, having faked his suicide to protect himself and his family from being held accountable for their criminal acts. He managed to escape with his family in tow with the gold—but they can’t hide forever.

Meanwhile the season finale left the Pogues on a deserted beach in the Carribean—we can’t wait to see what happens for them next.

Fans were also shocked to learn that John B senior isn’t dead, though he isn’t well. He reveals to the ever-curious Limbrey that he knows where the mysitcal garment is—but he has one requirement: keep John B safe.

So does this mean the Pogues will team up with Limbrey and John B senior? Guess season three will tell us…

Which characters will remain in the Outer Banks’ series?

While it’d be a travesty to remove the stalwart ringleader of the Pogues, John B (played by Chase Stokes), you never know what kind of twists and turns this show will throw at us.

But expect to see a lot more of him, along with his now unofficial wife Sarah (Madelyn Cline). You can also rest assured that Kiara (Madison Bailey) Pope (Jonathan Daviss) and JJ (Rudy Pankow) will return.

When will ‘Outer Banks’ season 3 be released?

Mark your calenders, wax up your surfboard and book your flights to the Caribbean because Outerbanks is coming back to our screens sooner then we expected. This month to be exact.

Indeed, OBX3 will drop on Feburary 23, meaning that we won’t have long to wait to see the next chapater of this nail-biting drama unfold.
