What is a Chaffle?

Achaffleis the most amazing creation yet to come out in the keto world.

The consistency that comes from cheese and an egg along witth spice baked in a dash mini waffle maker or a regular sized waffle maker is perfect!

I knew that I could combine the flavors I love, with the ease of making a chaffle and and that it would hit the spot. I had a few not believe me in my house, but then they took one bite of this pumpkin chocolate chip chaffle and changed their minds. A few of them told me it tasted more like a cookie than a waffle. I am totally ok with that!

DO NOT open before the 4 minutes is up. It is VERY important that you do not open the waffle maker before the 4-minute mark. After that, you can open it to check it and make sure it is cooked all the way, but with these chaffles keeping the lid closed the whole time is VERY important.

FAQs

Are chaffles good the next day? ›

To store: Chaffles can be stored in the refrigerator, covered. They will keep well for up to 5 days. To freeze: Place leftover chaffles in a ziplock bag and store them in the freezer for up to 6 months. Reheating: Simply pop them in a toaster oven or toaster until crispy.

Can chaffles be frozen and reheated? ›

This Basic Keto Chaffle Recipe is a great staple to have for easy breakfasts and snacks! Just 1.4 net carbs, easy to freeze and reheat, and perfect for keto meal prep.

Can you store chaffles? ›

Storage. Chaffles keep great in the refrigerator for about 5 days. To reheat, use your toaster, oven, or toaster oven to crisp them right back up. (Some chaffles won't do well in a toaster because they have other ingredients in them - use your judgement!)

Is it OK to eat chaffles everyday? ›

Eating 1 chaffle is almost 50% of that recommended daily intake. For that reason, I definitely wouldn't refer to them as a health food, but they are not necessarily unhealthy, either. Both cheese and eggs are a great high-quality protein source, and cheese is a great source of calcium.

Can chaffles be eaten cold? ›

Once you've let the chaffles cool, you can store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator or freezer. To reheat the chaffles place them in the toaster or you can microwave them for 30-60 seconds, or in the oven at 180/350 degrees. Serve chaffles hot or cold, but I personally prefer them hot.

Can you put a chaffle in the toaster? ›

Chaffles can be made up ahead of time, wrapped up tightly and stored in the refrigerator until use. Most especially like to do this if they are using these waffles as bread for sandwiches or burgers. To reheat the chaffle, put it in the toaster oven, oven or toaster and reheat to crisp up.

What do chaffles taste like? ›

Chaffles are waffles made with cheese and eggs; its funny name is a combination of the words “cheese” and “waffle”. Without any sweeteners, they taste like your favorite grilled cheese sandwich but with the texture of a crispy, crunchy waffle.

Why are my chaffles sticking? ›

Chaffles are basically cheese waffles. As the cheese melts it can make for a messy chaffle making experience if you open the waffle maker too soon! You need to allow most of the moisture to cook out of the cheese, which takes about 4-5 minutes at minimum. Resist the temptation to open the waffle maker before then!

Is almond flour keto? ›

Almond flour is a 100% keto-approved baking flour. It is also the most widely used keto flour on shelves. However, what it lacks in carbs, it makes up for in calories. Though almond flour is significantly higher in calories than many other flours, it also contains considerable amounts of protein and fiber.

Is it OK to make waffle batter the night before? ›

For the tastiest waffles with extra soft insides, make the batter the night before and rest overnight.

Can you refrigerate waffle batter and use it the next day? ›

Both batters can be kept in a refrigerator for up to 2 days; beyond this, quality diminishes.

Can you eat waffles the next day? ›

Use the waffles within 2 to 3 days.

Unfortunately, fresh waffles don't hold up very well in the refrigerator. They harden and lose their taste over time. If you intend on using the waffles right away, refrigerating them is fine. Freeze them instead if you wish to keep them edible long-term.

How long is leftover waffle House good for? ›

Discard all perishable foods, such as meat, poultry, eggs, side dishes, or casseroles, left at room temperature longer than two hours; one hour in room temperatures above 90 °F. Once leftovers are stored safely, they will remain safe three to four days. For more information please visit Safe Handling of Takeout Food.
