Regarding my overall experience at the University of Hawaii at Mānoa, the university provides a colorful and enriching campus experience that has left me feeling overall positive and ready to learn on a day-to-day basis. There are various options of food to choose, and the numerous types of activities, opportunities, and clubs cater to a wide range of interests, which in return fosters a feeling of community! It is simple to say that this campus aides in a well rounded education and therefore will create a well-rounded student! My biggest joy has been witnessing the professors here at UH Mānoa have the passion, dedication, and enthusiasm for their students and the subject(s) they teach. While larger class sizes and lecture halls are common, I would appreciate more smaller, interpersonal classes. Regardless, I am proud to say that this campus is a home away from home, and an inclusive college that has helped me grow this past semester!

There are two main types of students who attend the University of Hawaii: rich mainland kids who could not get into a mainland school, and poor local kids who can't afford to go to a mainland school.
The level of academic rigor is about as equal to a community college in a small town on the mainland.
The locale is oft cited selling point for UH, but those who know about Hawaii will often say that it's a great place to visit, but a terrible place to live. The cost of living to average salary ratio is the worst in the nation. It really has become merely a playground for the rich.
UH does do some serious work in the fields of oceanography, geology, and astronomy, but even then this institution is more of a base of operations for researchers from the more prestigious universities.

The University of Hawai'i at Manoa is a really good school for those in their respective majors that see the most funding. The ones who are strictly research based, ie. STEM. Are one of the hardest classes and faculty you'll have to deal with. Manoa professors are a sink or swim type of institution, and some of the campus resources are structured similarly this way as well. All in all for a University it's a great location for those who want to escape their home state, but keep in mind this school is definitely for graduate students. Student life/ activities is prominent and hosts many events, but you'll most likely have a class during them.
